On October 1st, 2011 the Montrose Firefighter’s Association will proudly present the 10th Annual Black Canyon Sprint Triathlon.It begins with a 500 yard swim (10 laps) at the Montrose Aquatic Center, then continues with a 24K (14.6 mile) bike course winding through the west side of town, and wraps up with a 5K (3.1 mile) run that finishes at the aquatic center.
Packet Pick-up is Friday, September 30th from 5-9 p.m. at the Aquatic Center. Essential information will be shared at two Pre-Race Meetings at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Please plan on attending one of the meetings!
There will be something for everyone at the 2011 BCST!
The Montrose Fire Protection District’s annual Health Fair will be held in cooperation with the BCST at the Aquatic Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Complimentary Bone Density, Mammograms, and Spirometry screenings will be offered. There will be Facial Skin Assessment technology available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be Flu Shots for adults and children available on a fee basis. Children younger than 4 cannot be vaccinated. A pharmacist will be available for consultation.
We are also planning a Street Fair type atmosphere with activities, food and fun for the entire family.
Proceeds from this event benefit the community of Montrose. Over $8,000.00 was returned to the local groups that assisted in the Triathlon in 2010! Please be appreciative patrons of all the generous sponsors that make this event possible!
Time: 8:00 a.m.
Divisions: Youth, Adult, Team, Youth Team, Family Team.
Awards: Overall top male and female. Top three finishers in the following: Team, Family Team,Youth Team (1st-5th, 6th-8th grades),Youth male and female(1st-5th grade and 6th-8th grade), Male and Female 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44,45-49,50-54, 55-59,60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Race Fees: On or before September 12th– Youth- $30 , Adult(19+)- $50 ,
Youth Team $60, Team(Regular and Family) - $80
September 13th thru 20th – Youth- $40 , Adult(19+)- $65 , Youth Team $75,
Team(Regular and Family) – $95
September 21st thru 29th –Youth- $50 , Adult(19+)- $90 ,Youth Team $90,
Team (Regular and Family)- $120

T-shirts may be mailed for registrations received after 9/15!!!
Distances:
Youth- (1st-5th grade) 100 yd swim, 5k bike, 2k run.
Youth- (6th-8th grade) 250 yd swim, 10k bike, 2.7k run.
Youth-(9th grade to 18 years old)500 yd swim, 24k bike, 5k run.
Adult-500 yd swim, 24k bike, 5k run.
Team – Will do distance(s) corresponding to oldest team member’s correct division.
All team divisions can be made up of either 2 or 3 people.
Example: two 4th graders and a 6th grader are on a team, ALL participants would do the distances for the 6th-8th grade.
Family Team - Distances in this division would correspond to each participant’s age/grade, and team members would be from same family.
Example: distances if the family team consisted of a first grader(100 yd swim), an adult(25k bike), and a 7th grader(2k run).
Youth Team- Will do distance(s) corresponding to oldest team member’s correct division(either 1st-5th or 6th-8th grade-see above for distances).
